How is your first name pronounced?

"Kuh-LEEL". Please remember that my first name is Kahlil, and my last name is Joseph, exactly as it appears on the page.

So, call me either "Kahlil" or "Mr. Joseph" and not "Joseph" or "Mr. Kahlil"; I strongly believe names are a vital part of our identities, and should be addressed with care.

What do you look for in a potential learner?
  • Great attitude
  • Friendly and polite
  • Punctual and respectful of our time and boundaries
  • Does the practice assigned
What is your coaching style?

I can be the easiest coach to work with, when it comes to scheduling appointments during weekdays, and am warm and encouraging. However, if you do not take the work seriously, or have a poor attitude, I will be direct with you. Show up with enthusiasm, practice, be on time, call/text the coach immediately if you need to cancel/reschedule your appointment, offer prompt payment, and we will get along wonderfully!

Do you accept credit cards?

No, but you can make payments online through Paypal or Venmo.

Do you offer virtual lessons?

Yes.

NOTE: For all online lessons, payment needs to be made via Venmo or Paypal just before the lesson begins.

How many lessons will I need to improve?

This answer needs to be truthfully given on a case-by-case basis, depending on many factors, such as:

- The number of lessons you can take per week. In any field you are undertaking training (playing a musical instrument, physical fitness, learning a language, mathematics, sciences, etc.), your progress will usually occur based on the time commitment you can put in on a weekly basis. It is reasonable to assume that the more time you can manage to train with a coach, along with doing your homework assignments, you can make progress accordingly.

- The individual. For accent training, different people have different abilities to mimic and understand sounds and speech different from what they are used to; for acting and audition training, some people have natural abilities to draw on their heightened emotional states, while others need to learn techniques that work for them; for combat, different people have different physical attributes and physical conditioning.

- Retaining the material. Each person takes a different amount of time to absorb and retain the material taught, which accordingly plays a role in advancing.
